APTU is recognised by Thameslink Railway as an official representative body for all Thameslink passengers using stations between Harlington and West Hampstead.
APTU holds regular meetings with the Thameslink Railway management team to discuss both the current service and also future developments which could affect our daily journeys.
Most of the major stations on the line are represented on the Committee by a committee member living locally. Over the years, APTU established a good relationship; initially with the first Go-Via franchise, subsequently with First Capital Connect and now with Govia Thameslink Railway (GTR).
Your committee issues regular newsletters to pass on items of interest to our entire membership and also work with our contacts at Thameslink to address issues / problems as they arise.
Whilst APTU does not achieve all that it would wish, there can be no doubt that the Association's existence has provided a positive means whereby the views of rail travellers can influence the service
we all use. Higher membership can only increase this influence.
